There’s a 7-Links challenge making its way around some marriage blogs.
Lest we confuse this with that Kevin Bacon “7-degrees-of-separation” thingy, here’s how it works: I pick 7 blog posts that fit pre-determined categories.
Easy, right?
Wrong. Hard. Very hard. (But not being one to back down from a challenge, I said to my self, “Self. Game on.”)
As for my involvement in it, both Marriage Life Ministries and One Flesh Marriage tagged me to take part. (It’s completely possible others tagged me as well, but I’m slow to catch on to these sorts of things. I know. You’re not surprised.)
Below are my posts, and as you can see, I’m not always a rule follower.
In some categories, I included more than one link, because… well… this is hard. And I haven’t even been blogging very long, so I can imagine for people who have been turning out fabulous stuff for years (like those generous Byerlys — Paul and Lori), a challenge like this is crazy hard.
Anyway, here goes…
My Most Beautiful Post
What if the Last Time You Made Love Truly Was the Last Time?. This is a somewhat touching tribute to my grandparents, but I think it struck a chord in the hearts of many people.
My Most Popular Post
Sexual Positions: Hey I’m A Housewife, Not a Gymnast (What can I say? I LOVED writing this post!) I’ve had other posts do well too, but I decided I’d just list this one. It’s my favorite.
My Most Controversial Post
Why Paris Hilton Would Make a Good Wife (In hindsight, there are things I don’t like about this post. BUT…I think my heart and motive were in the right place).
My Most Helpful Post
Modesty is Destroying Your Sexual Intimacy. I know this is a struggle for many Christian wives.. it’s that whole “flip the switch” saga; trying to be modest in public, but uninhibited in the bedroom. I try to speak hope into this dilemma whenever possible.
A Post Whose Success Surprised Me
The Secret to Stopping the Body Image War and What Your Husbands Are Telling Me About Your Sex Life
Both of these seemed to spark some traffic and conversation. I receive quite a few emails behind the scenes… comments and reactions readers never see, but that confirm to me I’m writing on the topics people want addressed.
A Post I Feel Didn’t Get The Attention It Deserved
3 Things We Can Learn from Anthony Weiner About Sex. This post probably didn’t get the attention it deserved because everyone was worn out with and disgusted by the Anthony Weiner controversy. The points I make, though, I believe are spot on. It’s timeless wisdom.
The Post I’m Most Proud Of
3 Ways Jesus Makes You a Better Lover and 5 Reasons I Like Sex: Confessions from a Christian Wife. I really loved writing both of these, because they reflect my heart as a Christian wife who speaks and writes on sexual intimacy.
There are many voices out there speaking encouragement.
Consider the ones I have listed below. I include them in no particular order and I’m sure I’m missing a few, so chime in with your comments… which marriage blogs do you love?
All of us marriage bloggers are on the mission that we hunger you be on as well — making marriage as healthy and endearing as possible. Glean from the resources you find, generate dialogue with your beloved, and seek God’s face always.
This 7 Links Challenge was fun! I met it head on and I survived. Happily!

I just wanted to let you know that I named your blog to my Top Ten Marriage Sites to help your Christian marriage grow. http://affaircare.com/2011/08/21/top-ten-marriage-sites-to-help-your-christian-marriage-grow/ There is a little badge if you’d like to to display your award (Affaircare’s Hot Marriage Site Award).
I saw your favorites list included the Byerly’s TGH and TGW. How could you leave out the XY Code? I go there often when my words fail to make my “beloved” understand.
Many a day I wish Miss Lori, or someone, ANYONE, would write an XX Code! I have asked both of them, I think, via comments BTW.
Probably have to make a site for each woman on the planet though. HA!
